Polycom Trio 8500/8800 - Zoom H.323 call support

NEW FEATURE: Polycom Trio is now supporting H.323 calling


In order to make H.323 call you'll have to first activate the feature in the web GUI. For the purpose of this article we will only use Line 1 of the Trio set in Generic Mode.

We always recommend to use the latest firmware version of the Trio to obtain the latest features. This article was written while using firmware version: 5.9.1.10419
  1. Login to the web GUI by entering the Trio IP Address in your web browser
  2. Go to Settings --> H.323
  3. Enable H.323 and enter your Gatekeeper Address if any.
  4. Make sure RTP Media Encryption is set to ENABLE (see screenshot below)  
  5. Go to Settings --> Lines
  6. Select Line 1
  7. Set your Gatekeeper authentication information and Line details




You should now be ready to dial through your gatekeeper.

  1. Go back to home screen
  2. Select place a call
  3. Dial 0@zoomcrc.com
  4. Hang-up the call
  5. Go to Recent calls
  6. Click the "info" icon next to the number you just called
  7. Click "add to contacts"
  8. Click the star icon, select "icon 3" in the list of icon and select H.323 as your protocol
  9. Go back to home screen and you'll see your speed dial.
